Jacqueline Fernandez’s workout wardrobe

Her performances in commercial capers like Race 2 and the Housefull franchise aside, Sri Lankan-born Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez is also widely known for her fitness obsession. Yoga, Pilates, barre, pole dancing or functional training; it would appear that when she’s not in front of the camera, Fernandez is busy acing hard-to-master moves in a studio somewhere. Those abs, after all, don’t just happen overnight. “It’s not about the physique. Fitness, for me, has always been about the challenge, and finally, the feeling of accomplishment. That’s where the addiction lies,” she said on her Instagram page, which is populated with her workout videos. So when it was time for the actress to launch her own label, it had to be an activewear brand. “Fitness is my forte (…) it was the fact that we were venturing into something I truly believed in—into athleisure, fitness and lifestyle, which is something that I want to inspire in everyone,” she told Vogue during the launch of Just F.

Whether the actor is ‘exercising’ her rights or running off the gelato and pizza from the previous night (her IG captions, not ours!), the fitness enthusiast knows that the only gym buddy one needs is the right workout clothes. Strong is sexy, and so is black leggings and sports bra set. This combination is, hands down, the star’s favourite. During her self-quarantine at Salman Khan’s countryside home in Panvel, she has been wearing all-black mesh-detailed and noodle-strap sports bra with sheer leggings and cycling shorts. There was also the time when she wore a sports bra featuring cut-outs and lace accents with high-waisted sheer-panelled yoga pants to practise her slick Pilates moves (did someone say human clock?). And to accomplish that set of 108 surya namaskars, it’s got to be a black backless bodysuit with leggings. On the other end of the colour wheel, the Kick actor loves her pristine white sets as well, particularly to perform free-style headstands in the garden.

But her wardrobe is not entirely monochrome. When in the mood for colour, you’re likely to spot the 34-year-old in a hot pink set for a spot of light stretching and breathing. Or channelling her inner yogini on a pole in a grey Calvin Klein sports bra with shorts. Coloured sets from her own label—no surprises there—are another go-to.
